2014 so far...
Jan. 2nd, 2014 12:05 amSo late last night, around 2:30 AM, a bunch of teenagers were making a big racket in the street. They were bellowing and swearing and yarping all kinds of stoopit things that people that age do. I checked outside to make sure they weren't doing anything such as messing with my car or whatnot. Nope. They were just being drunken loudmouths.
Anywho, later on I heard a bunch of loud noises again a few hours later. Checking outside again, thinking that the drunken youngsters had returned, I found a large truck and some city workers. A water main had burst open, just a few feet away from where my Prius was parked.
The pressure of the main pushed up part of the street as water rushed down the sidewalk like a river. I relocated my car, and the city workers cordoned off the street and shut off the water. Here's what that main did:
w00t! Whatta way to start off the new year! The burst main caused a good twenty feet of the street to crown, and cracked apart the curb. Yikes!
