I counted…
16 weeks until I graduate.
My last final before getting my bachelor’s: December 12th…
Exactly one day before the new Star Trek movie opens!
Yes, it’s true… I could accurately be described as a Trekker, but I don’t dress up like a Klingon. (No, I don’t dress up like a Ferengi either!)
The way I see it, the Next Generation cast has to make this movie a good one. They’ve made one decent movie and two turkeys, and now they have one more chance to get it right. If they blow it this time, they have no excuse.
The trailers look good, but I can’t tell if they really do look good or if I’m just suffering from wishful thinking.
This is what I’ve been thinking about in the last two weeks of my quarter. In a little more than two weeks, I’ll be facing my last final for the summer quarter, and then I have three weeks of freedom before I start my very last quarter.
At least the last quarter in my quest for a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
Just how do you jazz up a class presentation about Windows layered architecture versus the simplified UNIX OS architecture? Diagrams? Animations? Sock puppets? A scantily clad assistant?
I suppose I could get more work done if I tried studying at my girlfriend’s place, but all the neighborhood cats have been coming around for visits. It would be too distracting. I just can’t say no to the puppy dog face of a lonely cat. (They look forlornly through the glass front door.)
Who knows. I’m working on papers and studying for finals while I battle a mild chest cold. Meanwhile, the nurses at the student health center keep telling me my blood pressure is “A little high.”
“A little high?”
“Yep.”
“Oh.”
“Yes.”
”What does that mean?”
“Well, you should try and lower it.”
During finals? Ha!
In the meantime, I’m supposed to go back and get it checked again in a couple of weeks.
Do you suppose my being a full time student has anything to do with it?
